Master The Art Of Crafting The Perfect Intro And Captivate The World

We introduce ourselves all the time, and we usually screw it.

We bore others with dry facts, ramble through complicated explanations involving half our life story, or annoy everyone with elevator pitch-type intros.

If you get the dreaded “What do you do?” question, don’t panic.

Clay Hebert’s framework will help you craft a better intro, tell a compelling story and spark meaningful conversation.

It’s gold.

Definitely made me think about how I talk about what I do.

"There is no driver's test for introductions, which is why we crash them every day." - Clay Hebert

If you build your response on answering the questions of what, it's thin.

In “What do you do?”, "do" is a verb.

Not a noun.

Rather than simply stating your job title, share how your work contributes to a larger goal or makes a difference in people's lives.

Highlight truths about you and your business that won’t change, no matter what.

Instead of a dry “I’m a teacher” or “I’m a data analyst”, spice it up and say:

"I teach math and I find it incredibly rewarding to help shape young minds and inspire a love for learning. Seeing my students grow and succeed brings me so much joy."

"I work as a data analyst, helping organizations uncover valuable insights from massive amounts of data. It's really cool to dive deep into the numbers and discover patterns that can guide important business choices and ultimately make the company grow. “

It’s simple. (It’s just that simple things are difficult.)

Choose your words.

Own your life.

Own your story.

And find others.

People rarely remember the microscopic details of what exactly you do.

But they will always remember how you made them feel.

So, what do you do?
